Goa Tourism Affected due to extended monsoon season this year. One of the core or the main revenues for the Goa Government is the Tourism Industry. Goa Tourism contributes significantly to the coffers of the Goa Government. Tourists from around the world come here to have a much-needed Vacation. The Tourism season in Goa starts typically in the month of October. But it is still raining non-stop in Goa for the past three days without even a minute of respite from the rains. The tourism season, however, peaks in the month of December. But the influx of tourists begins from late September to early November.

Goan Beach shacks has not yet allocated to vendors due to access monsoon

The Famous Beach shacks which normally come up by the first week of October have not even seen allotments being done. Normally once the Monsoon season ends at the beginning of September. Beach Shacks are appointed to locals. Most people who live around the beach area are given allotments so that they can cater to the tourists who start trickling by the end of September. It will be mostly foreign Tourists that come in during that time. Domestic Tourists arrive during the festive season of Diwali. Which again will be affected this Goa Tourism Season. Goa Tourism Affected this year and it ma create impact on over economy of the state.

Livelihood of locals depends on Goa Tourism: Goa Tourism Affected 

Diwali has already begun with Dhanteras being celebrated today. But the weather in the coastal state of Goa will not favour tourism as the streets are flooded and the infrastructure in shambles. Goans too will have to skip Diwali festivities this year as it is going to be a wet Diwali in Goa this year. The IMD has already issued a red alert for the state of Goa. So, it wouldn’t be wise for tourists to make Goa a destination that they should visit as yet.

Locals believe that the Rains that they are witnessing this weekend is the last of the showers. It marks the retreat of the Monsoon Season. Hopes is what the Goa Tourism Affected and relying on things to improve. The Industry has already suffered a loss of about 6 weeks considering the end of September and the whole of October.

Once the Monsoon season ends shack allotments would start. After the allotments, it would take at least two weeks to build the Shacks. This means the Goa Tourism Season will begin only in the beginning of December a two-month delay which will certainly affect the livelihood of many who depend on the tourism season to survive the entire year. So while the country will be celebrating Diwali Goa will be praying for the Monsoon to end.
