Ambassador car may be back on Indian Roads with new DC Design

The Indian Car Design, Dilip Chabbria revealed plans on reviving the defunct Ambassador. The Ambassador was one of the most iconic Indian Cars that were on Indian Roads. It was a full Indian manufactured car by Hindustan Motors.

This car has ruled Indian roads for over 50 years. There was a time when the only car manufactured in India was the Ambassador. All government vehicles up to 2000s used to be this car including PMs. It also came in a Bullet Proof version for Heads of State like the current cars used by the same dignitaries.

Dilip Chhabria has designed many cars for the manufacturers in India and abroad

DC2 earlier known as DC Design, the brainchild of pioneer Car modifier Dilip Chhabria. He has revolutionized the way car modification in India. He completely changes the look and feel of the scar to the next level. Earlier DC has modified may Ambassador even converted them in Limos.

DC has now revealed that he will be re-launching iconic Ambassador with a new design. While there are several speculations around what it would look like. There is no official release of the actual design.

The Ambassador car in India is like Beetle was to Germany 

DC has already received several inquires for the new generation Amby. One of the most striking changes that the new car will have will be that the car will be Electric and not gasoline driven. The Car will be engineered by a Swiss-based engineering firm but the name has not revealed.

Swiss have known for their precision in engineering. So the new Ambassador will be definitely an engineering marvel. DC estimates the new ambassador will be able to do 250 km on a single charge. It also has high torque like all-electric vehicles which makes the Amby go from 0 – 60 in 4 seconds.

Launch of the new DC2 product will begin in 2021 is what Mr. DC himself has estimated. They have an assembly line that can produce 5000 units which are built at the DC Avanti. The DC Avanti failed to capture the auto enthusiast. So manufacturing is now completely stalled.

The New Ambassador has attracted demand from both Indian and overseas markets. Dilip Chhabria is confident that this new product from his stable will be a super hit. As the Ambassador ceased production it was widely missed by a huge population who were diehard fans of the Ambassador.
