Keto Diet Plan or Ketogenic diet is an emerging trend in weight loss. In the simplest terms possible it just means reducing weight by avoiding carbohydrates. It is also called as a No Carb Diet plan. Growing obesity and lack of patience is the reason why people are preferring Keto Diet for weight loss. Since Keto Diet is the quickest most efficient way for weight loss it is the most preferred. The other advantage is that the diet has very few side effects too. Unlike some other diets that make weight loss quick but have adverse effects on the body.

When entering into a Keto Diet ideally what happens is the body goes into a state of Ketosis. This simply means that Glucose that is present in the blood which gives us energy is replaced by Ketone Bodies. The Liver starts to metabolize fatty acids at a high rate in the absence of Glucose. Carbohydrates are the main source of glucose in the body. This whole process in short enables the body to burn fat faster. So, the result is quicker weight loss.

Keto Diet is recommended for a wide variety of diseases. Many diseases that are related to the brain like Alzheimer’s and Epilepsy. It is also recommended to people that are suffering from diseases like Cancer, Parkinson’s Disease, Diabetes etc.

Meat: Chicken Mutton Beef etc are recommended
Fatty fish: Salmon, Trout, Tuna, and Mackerel.
Eggs: Both White and the yoke can be consumed
Butter and cream
Unprocessed Cheese
Nuts and seeds
Healthy oils: Mainly extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil.
Low-carb veggies: Green vegetables like tomatoes, onions, peppers, etc.
Condiments: You can use salt, pepper, and various healthy herbs and spices.

Don’ts Foods you avoid while on a Ketogenic Diet Plan

Sugary foods: Anything that contains sugar should be avoided like Soft Drinks, Chocolates, Sweets etc.
Grains or starches: Wheat-based products, Rice, Pasta, Cereal, etc.
Fruit: All fruits should be avoided except berries,
Beans or legumes: Peas, Kidney Beans, Lentils, Chickpeas, etc.
Root vegetables: Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Radish, etc.
Low-fat or diet products: These are highly processed and often high in carbs.
Processed Foodstuff: Sauces, Sweeteners and any food that goes through processing and has additives
Unhealthy fats: Avoid vegetable oils, mayonnaise, etc.
Alcohol: Alcohol has high carbohydrate content so it can affect your state of Ketosis even if mildly consumed
