Food in Theatre

Why Food in Theatre is not allowed but you can carry in an aeroplane. Theatre owners for years have been overcharging moviegoers for a food item that is available at their canteens. A simple Samosa can cost you ten times what it could cost you in a Theatre. Popcorn too which costs Rs. 10 in any outlet will cost you more than Rs. 250 to Rs. 300 in Theatres. This kind of pricing is extremely unfair. It burns a hole in the pocket of people going to see a movie.

It is extremely common to nibble on something while you are watching a movie. Even at home people like to grab a bite when their favourite TV Show or Movie is on. However, this is being exploited by the Theatre owners across the country. They are known to charge a Bomb for food inside a Theatre. Even packaged drinking water is charged at a premium. Making water too expensive in a Movie Theatre.

Moviegoers fleeced by Theatre owners for years.

In Maharashtra, the court had questioned the state government why it could not allow moviegoers to carry their own food inside a theatre. While the government cited security as the main reason for not allowing outside food.
