SUVs in India break the slump in the Automobile Industry. It has been the worst year for the Automobile Industry in the past two decades. There was a steep decline in the sales of Automobiles across the country. Almost all Automobile manufacturers took steep measures to tackle the drought that they were going through. But the SUVs market had a very different story to tell. It was the Demand for them that brought the Industry out of the shambles. New entrants into the Indian market Kia and MG both launched SUVs as their debut int the Indian market. A move that proved to be very successful for both Automakers.

SUVs in India getting popular by each passing day

The Kia Seltos and the MG Hector are both SUVs that got booked rather quickly and even bookings had to be closed due to the demand for both these vehicles. Existing car manufacturers also did well. Tata launched the Tata Harrier which responded quite positively with the Indian Consumer.

Hyundai too launched its Budget SUV the Hyundai Venue which again was well received by the Indian market. Moreover, it was the Diwali festivities that gave the all attractive discounts that made the sales for the Auto Industry to rise up from a grave situation.

SUVs are the favourites for people world over

Whether it was just the festive season that brought back the auto industry back on to its feet or the sudden rise in the demand of SUVs is yet to be seen. But with sales seeing a slight increase compared to the early months of the year it looks like the Auto Mobile Industry will limp back to normalcy. Toyota too will enter into the budget SUV segment it will launch the Maruti Suzuki Breeza under their very own label. Maruti and Toyota have entered into an agreement of the Joint manufacturing of Vehicles.

The rise in the demand for SUVs in India is mainly due to conditions of Indian roads. But that is just a theory that many Indians would like to believe. Since Globally too there has been a surge in the demand for SUVs. It is the mindset of people that is changing which is setting up a new trend. Even SUV Coupes are in high demand with many Global manufacturers entering into that segment of Vehicles.
