Excesses of police in different parts of the country led the protest in the US. This violent protest started after the death of American black citizen George Floyd. A campaign started in support of black people in different parts of America. Now film celebrities across the world jump in this protest and posting details on their social media wall.

American actor Nick Cannon joined the moment and reached to Minneapolis. This is the same place where Floyd died in a police action last week and demonstrations held there on Monday. While protesting Nick Cannon said, “The visuals can’t break out of mind. I needed to be there where Floyd’s life was taken away. This incident has hurt a lot. The whole world is feeling this pain. Those visuals can never be removed from our minds.”

Many Hollywood celebrities hit the road and joined the campaign

Not only this, American Singer Ariana Grande shared her pictures in which she is seen holding the sign of black lives matter. She participated in the Protest of Los Angeles. Singer Tinashe also posted a similar picture on Twitter. American actor Kendrick Sampson tweeted how police officers fired rubber bullets at him in Los Angeles.

Not only American celebrities but Indian actress Priyanka Chopra also protested Floyd death. Priyanka wrote, “There is so much work to be done and it needs to starts at an individual level on a global scale. We all have a responsibility to educate ourselves and end this hate. End this race war here in the US, and around the world. Wherever you live, whatever your circumstances, NO ONE deserves to die, especially at the hands of another because of their skin colour.”

Although many in India did not like the protest from Priyanka and trolled her. People said that she does not speak on discrimination happening in her own country but becomes an activist in America. Calling it a ‘selective activism’, users said that Bollywood celebrities post according to their convenience. People asked Priyanka and the rest of the celebrities why they remain silent about the attacks on minorities in India and the police brutality.
