The lockdown 4.0 will push 25 per cent population on the road due to lack of income. To prevent coronavirus infection the government started lockdown on 25th March. This is implemented in 3 phases for almost 2 months. The fourth phase is ready to roll out after the end of the 3rd Phase on 17th May. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced this on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, a survey by the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) said that if the lockdown extended for another week. More than one-third of Indian families will come on the road due to no resources needed to live. The third phase of the lockdown is set to end on 17the May.

Monthly income drop in more than 84% of households in India

The CMIE has conducted a study based on household income since lockdowns started in India. They said in their survey that 84% of household income affected due to lockdown. At present 25% of the working population in the country has become unemployed.

One-third of households in the country is in a bad state

As per Chief Economist CMIE, the condition of 34 per cent of houses has deteriorated due to lockdown. They do not have the necessary resources to live life for more than a week. He also said that people of low-income groups in the society need immediate help.

People of the lower class need quick cash transfer as instant relief. If the government does not help soon, then malnutrition and poverty can increase rapidly.

Approx 2.70 crore youths lost their job in India due to coronavirus and lockdown

According to a study by CMIE, unemployment figures in the country has increased rapidly. The unemployment rate in India was 7.4 per cent on 21 March. This is increased to 25.5 per cent on 5 May. Around 2.7 Crore in the age group of 20 to 30 years have lost their jobs in April.

States like Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand are in deep trouble

The income of most of the households in the country has come down due to increasing unemployment. As per a survey, around 65% of urban households have the resources to live for more than one week. While in rural houses 54% of people said that they do not have resources to live for even a week. 

In states like Delhi, Punjab, and Karnataka, the impact of lockdown has come down a bit. While in states like Bihar, Haryana, and Jharkhand the impact has increased due to loans.

Id the given fact is survey is correct than the government has to act immediately. The majority of Indians will die due to hunger before coronavirus.
