When Azam was asked about this, he said that both of us should not be compared. We are different batsmen and our style of playing cricket is different. At present, Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world. Also, Babar Azam has earned a lot of names for his batting in the last few months.

Recently, Azam rated as the third best batsman in the ODI ranking of ICC. But the 1st position in ODI ranking is with Virat Kohli for a very long time. Although Azam tops the T20 rankings where Kohli is at 10th position. At the same time, Kohli is at number two in the Test rankings where  Azam is at number five.

Media insist on a comparison question with Azam, then he said, “I think I should not be compared with Virat Kohli, he is a different type of player and I am different. My job is to win matches for my team and I will focus on it, not on comparison”

On the captaincy question, Azam said that he will try to control his emotions on the field. He said, “As a captain, you need to be calm. You will get angry, but you need to control your emotions. On the field, you need to commit your aggression for the team. I will support the players and build their confidence. 

When Azam asked his opinion on Shahid Afridi statement on the Kashmir issue. He declined to pass any comment on this.
