IPL 13 matches are not possible even after the sports complex opens for the sports activity. The Ministry of Home Affairs has given permission for the opening of sports complexes in Lockdown 4. All sports stadiums and complexes are closed after the Coronavirus pandemic announced in March 2020. 

Following the ministry’s guidelines, the sportspersons can practice in the sports complex from 18th May 2020. All sportspersons locked down at their homes like common citizens from 25th March 2020.

Sports complexes and stadiums allowed to open in lockdown 4.0

As per the new guidelines issued from the Ministry of Home for lockdown 4. The sports complexes and stadiums allowed to open. However, the audience not allowed to visit these places till further notice.

The third phase lockdown ended on 17th May but lockdown 4.0 has extended until 31 May. However, the sports activity allowed in the new corona guidelines but the celebrations of events not allowed. So far, more than 90,000 COVID_19 cases reported in India.  In which around 3000 people have lost their lives.

IPL 13 postponed indefinitely after corona pandemic

Generally, India holds the biggest cricketing event Indian Premier League (IPL) in this season. But this postponed indefinitely in April after the corona pandemic declared by the Indian Government. 

Despite the announcement of some exemptions on Sunday, the IPL 13 Season is unlikely to start. Domestic and international travel restrictions are still in force. International players not allowed to travel in India neither domestic players will move.

Nationwide sports activity paused since March 2020

The nationwide lockdown began in March due to coronavirus. The top players at the Indian Sports Authority (SAI) in Patiala and Bangalore are demanding commencement of practice. According to sports ministry sources, “the only implication of these guidelines to resume practice.”

The Olympics has postponed until 2021 due to this deadly epidemic. Last week, Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju made several video conferences to get players and sports authority officials opinions on this matter. He also spoke to weightlifters, hockey players, track and field athletes in this regard.
