He believes that Team India has a different rule for Virat Kohli and a different rule for other players. Gavaskar accused Team India and BCCI to be partial towards Ravichandran Ashwin. They keep sending him in and out from playing eleven squad from quite some times. He said many don’t like clear view of Ashwin and that’s the reason why he is not consistent in playing eleven. Gavaskar doesn’t stop there and said that T. Natarajan has also become a victim of BCCI double standard.

Sunil Gavaskar said that Ashwin has demonstrated his bowling ability to the world for a very long time. Although many dought his ability due to his honesty and clear view. Ashwin always expressed his clear view to the world even when team India and his teammates do not agree to his point of view. If Ashwin does not take many wickets in a match then selectors sideline him and threw him out of the playing eleven. But same selectors do not take strong decision when star batsman does not perform in a match or entire series.

Gavaskar also talked about T. Natarajan who recently debuted to Internationa Cricket after becoming a father of a baby girl. Natrajan reached Australia directly from the UAE after the IPL matches. Virat Kohli Leave open the discussion on BCCI double standard

Virat Kohli Paternity Leave open and discussion on social media and cricketing world for BCCI double standard. Cricket fans reacting on social media with their view on Kohli’s leave and BCCI rules disparity. Let me tell you that BCCI always maintained the double standard for players and officials. They always differentiate between star players and other team members from Team India. The Rohit Sharma name inclusion for Australia series after the injury is a classic example for this double standard.

But this kind of bad mouth from senior players are not good for India Cricket. They should raise their concern in the right forum and should be kind to Team India players. Virat Kohli Paternity Leave is not a problem, he should get this. But the question needs to be raised on BCCI double standard for not offering similar liberty to other players.  They should allow the similar leave to other players on such occasions. If BCCI will unify the rules then it will safeguard star players and BCCI officials. That will be really good for cricket and Team India.
