The government planning censorship on video streaming platform. This will include all major players like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc,. Many organizations have even demanded a ban, accusing Netflix of pornographic content.

A senior official told a leading news agency that several complaints have lodged. These online video streaming some of the obscene or insulted to religious sentiment.

Let me tell you that censorship of TV and films is already happening in India. There is no censorship for online video streaming. While looking at censorship, Hotstar prepared its Code of Ethics in January this year. But Netflix said it does not need to put any code of conduct for their content. Netflix said that current laws for censorship is ok.

The first series of Netflix was a ruckus about Sacred Games. Even Sacred Games had to make rounds of the court last year. It was over “outrageous scenes”, although the case was later dismissed. Last month, a Maharashtra leader had filed a police complaint against Netflix. He said that some on the content in Netflix defame Hindus.
Shiv Sena has registered a case against video streaming platform
Video streaming apps and web portals accused of showing pornographic and controversy-ridden videos. Shiv Sena has also registered a case in this regard. Ramesh Solanki of Shiv Sena’s IT cell has lodged an FIR at Mumbai’s LT Mark Police Station.

The FIR states that Netflix is trying to discredit Hindus in India. It has also said that violence with vulgarity is also served in the videos aired on Netflix.
