Shakuntala Devi set to hit Amazon Prime for digital premier

Shakuntala Devi biography is ready for a digital premiere. The film will release on Amazon Prime, a leading OTT Platform. This information is shared by Vidya Balan on her social media account. Her others associated too share this information on their social media handle. The release date not yet announced by the producer.

This film is based on the true story of a human-computer called Shakuntala Devi. Vidya Balan, Sanya Malhotra, and Amit Sadh acted in this film. Sanya played the role of Shakuntala Devi’s daughter and Amit played the role of  Shakuntala’s son-in-law.

Her father was a circus artist

Shakuntala Devi father use to work for a circus. He realized her ability while teaching cards trick. She was just 3 years old at that time.  After this, he left the circus and started roadshow to showcase her ability with numbers.

Shakuntala did not take any formal education. At the age of six, she demonstrated her mathematical abilities at the University of Mysore.

Shakuntala has confronted the computer in Dallas University

In 1977, Shakuntala confronted a computer ‘Univac’ at Dallas University. Shakuntala was supposed to calculate and extract of 23rd root of a 201-digit number.

She took 50 seconds and the Univac computer took 62 seconds to solve this. Shakuntala named as ‘Human Computer’ after this in the world.

This is the first Indian film with all-female from director, writer, and lead actress

Anu Menon directed this film and co-wrote the screenplay with Nayanika Mahtani. The film’s dialogue writer is Ishita Moitra. Probably this film is the first Hindi film in which women from the direction of writing and the main lead are in the hands of women.
