Amazon Web Series Tandav created trouble for actor, directors and Amazon. People on social media and political parties giving this a religious colour. Web Series Tandav directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and Saif Ali Khan played the lead role in this series. It was recently released on Amazon Prime Video. Tandav’s few scenes created controversy since its release on 15th Jan 2021. Police complaint registered against the director, actors and Amazon in different parts of the country. They are demanding the ban on Amazon Web Series Tandav.
Amazon Web Series Tandav mainly opposed by BJP leaders
People allege that some scenes of the series has hurt the religious sentiments. And the series should be banned immediately. They are also asking for an apology from lead actor Saif Ali Khan and director Ali Abbas Zafar. After this controversy police force has deployed outside the Saif Ali Khan’s house. No official statement received from Sail or Ali Abbas on this controversy so far.

Let me tell you that many Bharatiya Janata Party Leaders asking for the ban on the ‘Tandav’ web series. BJP leader Kapil Mishra has described the Amazon Web Series Tandav as anti-Dalit and anti-Hindu. Another BJP MLA Ram Kadam has also filed a complaint against ‘Tandav’ in Mumbai on Sunday.

He wrote a letter to Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry Prakash Javadekar. Ram Kadam asked for strong action against the actor, director and producer of the series. He said that Amazon Web Series Tandav used Lord Shiva name inappropriately and it is not acceptable.
UP Police also files a case against director and actors: Amazon Web Series Tandav
The entire controversy started with the release of Tandav Promo on Social media . The few scenes in promo hurt the religious sentiments of Hindu community. The people strongly reacted to those scenes on social media. UP Police registered a case against Amazon’s content head Aparna Purohit, actor Saif ali Khan and director Ali Abbas Zafar. The case registered in Hazratganj Police Station in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh . Complaint said that this series may provoke sentiments of hindu community.

Similarly other part of the country too registered the complaint against the Tandav. This is not the first time when controversy created on the release of web series or cinema. It’s become fashion from producers to add some controversial content. This create media attention and engagement on social media.

And fanatic group immediately hit the road and create trouble to common man. I think its planned and both, content creator and opposition are partner in such controversies. They benefit each other after the the controversy. Hope I am wrong and it is just my personal thinking.
